Frederick M. Schaffer, M.D.

Dr. Schaffer, his wife Sandy, and their son Benjamin have been living in and enjoying Charleston for almost 5 years. Dr. Schaffer’s oldest son Jon is on active duty overseas in the US Air Force; while his daughter Jennifer is attending college in Mississippi.

Dr. Schaffer is a Board certified Allergist who is a participating physician in the National Allergy, Asthma, and Urticarial Centers of Charleston. He is also on staff at MUSC as an Associate Professor of Allergy and Immunology. Previously, Dr. Schaffer was an Assistant Professor of Allergy and Immunology at the State University of New York Hospitals in Buffalo. He has published over 35 medical papers, book chapters and abstracts pertinent to the field of Allergy and Immunology. Dr. Schaffer has also competitively acquired several basic scientific and clinically based grants for research purposes in the field of Allergy and Immunology. Dr. Schaffer thoroughly enjoys the practice of Allergy and Immunology and, along with his medical colleagues, looks forward to providing the best of clinical care available to you and your family.
