John Ramey, M.D.
John Ramey, MD grew up in Florence, SC. He received a Bachelor of Science
degree in Math-Economics and graduated Summa Cum Laude from Furman University
in 1995. He was also elected to Phi Beta Kappa while at Furman. Dr. Ramey
has completed nine years of medical training. He attended medical school
at the Medical University of South Carolina where he was a member of
the medical honor society, Alpha Omega Alpha. He then completed an internal
medicine residency at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center and
finished an allergy-immunology fellowship at the University of South
Florida in Tampa. During this fellowship, his training focused on treating
asthma, sinus problems, allergic skin problems, drug allergies, insect
allergies, and immune deficiencies in adults and children. He is board
certified in both Allergy and Immunology and Internal Medicine.
Dr. Ramey is a member of the American Medical Association (AMA), Christian
Medical and Dental Association (CMDA), American College of Allergy, Asthma,
and Immunology (ACAAI), and the American Academy of Allergy, Asthma,
and Immunology (AAAAI). He has published book chapters, medical papers,
and medical reviews. He has served on the boards of the American Lung
Association in Charleston and the Asthma and Allergy Foundation in Tampa.
Dr. Ramey married his college sweetheart and has two sons. He enjoys
playing soccer, tennis, and basketball. He also plays the guitar and
is active in his church. He has participated in medical mission trips
to Honduras, Romania, and Ecuador.
